ASEAN Showcase (Laos National Circus, Laos · Vietnam National Circus School, Vietnam · Shirely Wong, Singapore ·  Aifique Khaikal, Malaysia & Kayleen Oritz. Philippines)
Sun 22 Nov 2026 · 20:00 - 21:15

The ASEAN showcase made possible through the support of ASEAN-Australia Centre, brings together artstis from Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam to present their unique acts - a reflection of their own circus history and practices.

Spannung (Duo Bruschetta, Italy)
Mon 23 Nov 2026 · 16:00–16:45

Spannung is a show of three short stories with no direct narrative connection. What unites them is that they end just when you don’t want them to. Two lovers meet in a nightclub, a monkey and a female explorer meet in the jungle, and a witch and an executioner meet in a medieval setting. LED poi, fire staff, UV hoops, verticalism, breakdance and live singing blend into short pieces with strong characters and atmosphere.

The Last Great Ape (The Last Stage & Phare, Ponleu Selpak Cambodia)
Mon 23 Nov 2026 · 17:30–18:30

Through autofiction and two artistic mediums, circus and cinema, Dara Heng (Phare Ponleu Selpak, Cambodia) and Karim Belkacem Saadi (director of A Part of Us and Daro Zucco) walk a fine line as they explore the meaning of risk in art.

Taiwan Showcase (National Taiwan College of Performing Arts & Ray, Taiwan)
Mon 23 Nov 2026 · 19:30–20:15

A collection of acts by professional and emerging Taiwanese artists from National Taiwan College of Performing Arts, each with their own unique style and stories :
Space Between : “Have you ever heard the sound of wind rustling through grass? Have you ever seen the gaps in a torrential downpour?”
Energy Hologram : on energy, matter and spirit as one, and the “human hologram”.
Within : explores unseen, inner states that can be felt but are hard to define.

The Dead Can Dance (Phare Ponleu Selpak, Cambodia)
Tue 24 Nov 2026 · 17:30–18:30

“The Dead Can Dance” is an interdisciplinary show - a fictional fable originating and inspired from a human adventure that took place and continues to take place in Cambodia. No one goes through life without confronting their inner demons and the external darkness, whatever form it may take. How then can we rekindle the light when it has fled the hearth of our souls? How can we fan the inner fire, the flame of life, and bring the sun into the eyes of our hearts? This is the purpose of this performance: to move from shadow to light. An ode to the resilience of individuals and peoples, expressed through the practice of art.

Water Song (ARC Circus Dance Theatre, Australia & Phare Circus, Cambodia)
Tue 24 Nov 2026 · 19:00–20:00

A virtuosic acrobatic feast told through vignettes exploring water’s role across cultures, from the parched vastness of Australia’s sunburnt landscapes to the dramatic arrival of Cambodia’s monsoon wet season. Drawing on traditional dance imagery, cultural mythology, and environmental storytelling from both nations, the work reveals unexpected commonalities between two distinct physical and artistic traditions.
